In NY, CA, PA, CO, and NJ the Catholic Church opened voluntary settlement programs to provide survivors an opportunity to settle their claim no matter when the sexual abuse occurred. Some of these programs are still accepting claims. Contact me for further information.
Many survivors opted to participate in settlement programs because they did not want to go to court. Others chose to file claims and those cases are winding their way through the courts.
Some states have opened a window of time to allow adults sexually abused as children to bring a claim in court no matter when the sexual abuse occurred.
