Child/Teen Sexual Abuse Attorney
for Victims in Youth Sports and other
Organized Youth Activities

One in 3 girls and 1 in 7 boys will be a victim of child sexual abuse before they reach the age of 18. Most child sexual abuse occurs with someone a child has an established and trusting relationship with. The person who is sexually abusing children is typically not a stranger to a child or their family. Sexual predators work very hard to develop trusting relationships with families and within communities to gain access to potential child victims. I have been working as an advocate for families whose children were sexually abused by trusting members of the community including volunteer or paid soccer coaches, baseball coaches, football coaches, gymnastics coaches, and swimming coaches, karate instructors, teachers, teacher aides, school custodians, boy scout leaders, camp counselors, social workers, psychologists, medical doctors, priests, deacons, choir directors, swim coaches, and many others in a position of trust where they can access children.

Most victims of child sexual abuse never report the abuse and even if it was reported it was likely well beyond the statute of limitations. Many victims and their families are concerned that it may be too late to pursue justice. For many victims of child sex abuse in youth sports and other organized activities the sexual abuse may have occurred long ago. However, state leaders and victims rights groups are advocating for changes in law which extend the time for victims to pursue legal action.

If you are a victim of child sexual abuse, you have a right to pursue justice.
